Back in the 1970s, a group of local residents, parents, and campaigners envisioned our space as a central hub for the community; a place where young people could find a voice and where creativity could thrive. Fast forward 50 years, and we still are championing those same values, thanks to the dedication of our founders and the early supporters who started this journey.
Help us carry on their legacy by becoming a Supporter or Friend, and ensure we can continue our important work for years to come.

Over half of our income relies on charitable giving, and the generosity of people like you. As a registered charity (1119318), this support is essential to keeping our doors open and providing a place for people to come together.
We also bring a lot of our work directly to those people that need it most. You can learn more about the impact we have with young people, older adults, artists ,and our local community in the tabs above.
To explore our work in more detail, you can download our Annual Review (below). This is a celebration and summary of everything we’ve accomplished over the past year.

Young people have always been a core focus of our work as an organisation. We believe that all children should have access to the arts, no matter their circumstances or background.
- We provide free circus skills workshops for young people from disadvantaged communities across Haringey and Barnet. Through these sessions they receive high quality training and learn physical skills, but also grow in confidence, develop their personal and communication skills and make lifelong friends.
- We also offer Free tickets to our shows through partner organisations in Haringey, allowing young people to share in the joy of live performance and broaden their creative education at a time when cuts to the art curriculum are so high.
- We also make sure to give a platform to the voices of young people around the way that we run as an organisation. We have a youth board who meet regularly, and we are also creating a youth producers programme allowing for young people to engage in our anniversary year celebrations and help curate our festival of events.
Inspire the next generation.
Support us and be part of our commitment to giving every child the chance to engage with the arts.
During the pandemic we launched a programme called Feeling Good which paired up volunteers with isolated older adults in our community. This programme has now evolved into a range of different activities focussing on bringing this community together.
- We run a diverse programme of free activities at Jacksons Lane from circus skills, craft activities and wellbeing sessions to help people reconnect and make friends. Through these sessions we’ve seen people grow in confidence, feel more connected to their community and find joy in trying new things.
- We also run social events where we bring people together with informal performances, food offers and games. Once a month we host our Social Lunch at Jacksons Lane, but we also having a touring version of this called Broadway Brunch that we take to supported housing schemes across the borough so that those who are not able to get to us in person are still able to take part.
- For the past 49 years we have also hosted annual Christmas Day event, focussing on bringing festive joy to those who are isolated at a time that can be challenge for so many. We now operate a combined in-person and delivery model to ensure that nobody misses out.
Your support can help us combat to social isolation, bring joy, and enrich the lives of older adults through arts and community programmes.

As the leading presenter of contemporary circus arts in the UK, we work hard to support Artists and Creatives at all stages of their career.
- We provide in-kind rehearsal space to develop new work, and support with funding advice and networking opportunities to help them find their place in the industry.
- By giving developing artists a platform through our Transmission and Hangwire performance series, artists also have the opportunity to showcase their work in front of a live and supportive audience.
- We also work hard to champion international artists, and to give them a platform in the UK where they can expand their profile.
- In 2023 we also worked with Waltham Forest’s Future Formed scheme to host a programme that focussed on developing technical theatre and stage management skills.

Jacksons Lane has been a cultural hub in Haringey for nearly 50 years, and almost everybody has their own story and relationship with the space. We continue to be a place for our local community to come together in a variety of ways.
- Our doors are open seven days a week, offering a safe and welcoming space for everybody to come to whether they are here to use our café, work from home, take part in a class or come to watch a performance.
- Each winter we also act as a Warm Welcome space, ensuring that those who have nowhere to go are able to stay warm and meet a friendly face.
- At our café we run a Wall of Kindness, allowing visitors to purchase vouchers for food and drinks that can be claimed discretely by those who may need them.
- We also provide high quality, affordable facilities, for members of our community to hire where they can host their own activities, celebrations and events.
- Our work is also widely known across the borough. We regularly take part in local events including Highgate’s Fair in the Square, North London Lates and will also play a part in the celebrations as part of The Borough of Culture which is coming to Haringey in 2027.
“The space created by Jacksons Lane made me feel safe and respected.”
