Feeling Good

During the pandemic we created Feeling Good, a befriending scheme based on creativity and connection. We matchmake local volunteers with an isolated adult to form a meaningful companionship. This vital work is needed now more than ever.

Creativity

Feeling Good delivers creative workshops across the borough. During Autumn 2021, we ran sessions in Tai Chi, African Singing, Caribbean Fitness, Immersive Storytelling and Floristry. More to come soon!

The Feeling Good project is such an amazing idea. It’s really made me feel strongly about the importance of helping each other and the ripple effect this creates to build better, more connected communities.

– Volunteer

Feeling Good has grown to become a thriving community of its own, with over 100 older adults tailor-matched with volunteer companions. This has resulted in over 1,500 phone calls, 564 walks and 204 home visits.

Feeling Good is filling a very important gap in Haringey in terms of community provision. I’ve had brilliant feedback from everybody I’ve referred to Jacksons Lane about their matches. They are providing hope and connection in what has been such a difficult period, with very few options for our service users. I couldn’t recommend them highly enough.”

– Assistant Psychologist

“Talking to Emma has been a fun, healing experience. You chose a wonderful buddy for me. Emma effortlessly brings me out of myself!”
