Warm Welcome

With the cost of living spiralling ever higher, we know that this winter is going to be difficult for a lot of people. Which is why we are taking part in the Haringey Warm Welcome.

This winter, our doors will be open to anyone who needs a place to go between 10am and 10pm Monday to Saturday and 10am to 6pm on Sundays. There are no obligations to take part in activities (although you are welcome to do so), or spend any money, and you don’t need to sign up.

You can find out more about Warm Welcome locations in Haringey on the Haringey Council website.

Wall of Kindness

Add a voucher or take a voucher, to the A La Mesa Wall of Kindness.

Add a voucher to the wall by purchasing it from the A La Mesa café and pinning it to the board. You can get vouchers for everything, from a cup of coffee, to a pastry or a sandwich.

Everyone is welcome to select a voucher from the Wall of Kindness. Just take one from the wall and bring it to the A La Mesa counter, and the item is yours for free. No questions asked.

Activities

Reading Group
Mondays at 2:30pm – 4pm (no group meetings April 1 and 8)

This weekly hour and a half of shared reading is a welcome break from life outside the reading room. Diana’s Reading Group brings together members of the local community to reflect upon thought-provoking short stories and poems, with new pieces chosen each week. It is a non-judgmental, relaxed space, where openness is encouraged, ideas and emotions are shared, and contribution is voluntary.

Please note there is currently a waiting list for Reading Group. Please email [email protected] to register your interest.

Social Lunch
Last Tuesday of the month at 11:45am – 2:30pm

Our monthly Social Lunch has been a staple at Jacksons Lane for many years, compered by, performed at and attended by members of the local community.

A delicious two course meal is served by our café, A La Mesa. Tea, coffee and biscuits are also a given as we settle in for an afternoon of performances. Alongside our community acts, singers and drag queens wow the audience with sets throughout the event. It is a warm and welcoming space for both regulars and new faces.

Jacksons Lane’s Warm Welcome is supported by Haringey Council’s Warm Welcome network.
