Using arts and creativity to help older people across north London in the aftermath of the Covid-19 lockdown.
Feeling Good is Jacksons Lane's project to bring arts and creativity to older people across north London, giving them companionship and confidence. Our vital work with the most vulnerable people in our communities is needed more than ever, with the Covid-19 pandemic stopping or discouraging older people from socialising and leaving their homes.
We'll run fun, social and safe activites throughout the year to support older people, including workshops, walks, games, crafts, theatre and concert trips and outings all in line with government advice regarding social distancing where necessary.
This work is supported by funding from the Cadent Foundation.
We need Volunteer Companions for our Feeling Good project. We want to pair up a volunteer with each isolated elderly person in Haringey that is in need of someone to chat to and create with.
Online Workshops: In October and November 2020, Feeling Good will be running weekly online workshops every Wednesday evening that follow the themes of music, games, cooking and movement. Each volunteer companion will visit a participant's home for the workshop, using their own device to access a Zoom workshop. This workshop will be led by a professional Jacksons Lane facilitator, with multiple Feeling Good companion/participant pairings online together for the workshop.
If you’re interested in volunteering but would prefer to be connected via the phone or Zoom, rather than visiting the participant’s home, we would still like to hear from you, as there may be other opportunities which you can help with.
