Fly High

24 Oct 2022

After our sell-out summer school, Fly High returns for half term. This is an amazing opportunity for 8-14 year olds to learn how to soar high in the air with a world-renowned circus venue.

Situated in the heart of Highgate in a stunning, newly renovated Grade II listed building, Jacksons Lane is known as the home of contemporary circus. We’ve played host to some of the greatest aerial and circus artists in the world, and now we are opening up the opportunity for a small group of young people to develop their skills across three lively and thrill-packed days.

Our bespoke summer school programme is led by Jacksons Lane’s very own Associate Artist Chusi Amorós and celebrated circus practitioner Daniel Rose. Both Chusi and Daniel combine their performance artistry with years of youth circus expertise, fashioning innovative and inclusive practices and teaching the joy of circus to young people of all abilities.

In our beautifully modelled, fully rigged professional studio spaces, our Fly High summer schoolers will:

  • Learn how to fly high in specialist aerial masterclasses
  • Refine spellbinding tricks with equipment such as the diablo, spinning plates and rolla bolla
  • Discover acrobatics and balancing on a walking globe
  • Receive step-by-step juggling tutorials
  • Play fun team bonding games daily
  • And much, much more!

Circus has been proven to have many benefits for young people. By focusing on improving a certain trick or skill, we learn patience, the power of practice, and the beauty of being open to dropping the ball or making a mistake. We also learn teamwork and harmony with the people around us, as many circus skills require complete trust in and collaboration with the other members of our troupe. Circus taps into a unique skill set separate to a lot of what we learn in school or other performing arts practices and allows us to be present. It can help to alleviate anxiety, improve focus, spark confidence, and most importantly, have fun!

Our summer school sold out in less than a week! Early booking is advised

The summer school programme runs from Monday 24 – Wednesday 26 October, from 10am to 4pm, for only £165 per young person for the full 3 days.

To ensure the best quality of teaching, we are only able to offer limited places for our summer school, so please book early to avoid disappointment.

After purchasing, you will be emailed an e-ticket. Please read carefully, and fill out the linked registration form as soon as possible.
