Jacksons Lane presents Lost in Translation Circus on tour at The Mill Arts Centre, Banbury
Spectacular circus skills blend seamlessly with physical comedy, theatrical storytelling and slapstick in this chaotic and colourful tale of a family of misfits, in which heart-stopping aerial and floor acrobatics combine with an original score to create an absurd portrayal of everyday life.
Jacksons Lane teamed up with fast-rising UK based contemporary circus company Lost in Translation Circus to create The Hogwallops, which premiered at Jacksons Lane in 2015 and is now restaged at The Mill Arts Centre in Banbury. It takes inspiration from Roald Dahl’s The Twits and Ettore Scola’s film Brutti, sporchi e cattivi ('Ugly, Dirty and Bad'), to produce a dysfunctional, quirky and funny family show.
Swinging aerial washing-line antics, animalistic dinner table juggling, beautiful zimmer-frame trapeze and spectacularly fun Korean cradle drama create a truly exciting, funny and slightly twisted world. With an original score reflecting themes from domestic comedy to lost love, The Hogwallops is a treat for the eyes and ears.
