Age/ncy at Tate Modern
Flourishing Lives & Jacksons Lane26 Apr — 28 Apr
Two of Jacksons Lane's flagship Creative Learning projects, Together and Women Rise, will feature as part of Flourishing Lives' AGE/ncy: Art, Ageing and Transition, a Tate Exchange free programme of events.
The Handheld Stories installation is presented in conjunction with Jacksons Lane's Together project, which brings arts activities to older people living with dementia. The installation, created by Spare Tyre Theatre Company in collaboration with Haynes Dementia Hub clients, invites audiences to learn more about Spare Tyre and Jacksons Lane's work with Haynes to embed creative activities into everyday practice and promote the improved well-being of people living with dementia.
Women Rise, a Jacksons Lane arts outreach project for women aged 55 and over, focuses on building physical, emotional and social well-being through free, fun and challenging activities. At the exchange, they will present a circus skills taster session and a preview of their interactive forum theatre piece Visible, a highly relatable play rooted in authenticity. No experience is needed to take part.
