Rehearsals & Auditions

Our venue is well suited to host rehearsals and auditions of all sizes.

We are now taking bookings for all of our spaces, which have become more accessible than ever before.

Newly installed, state of the art, rigging in Studios 3 and 4 mean that we can cater for aerial work.

Jacksons Lane can cater for rehearsals which require more than one studio space. Should it be required, all of our studios can be hired simultaneously, for rehearsals of over 100 people.

What a great venue, beautiful studio and the friendliest staff ever – reasonably priced and easy to get to. Already rebooked for my next event!

FAQs


What are you standard opening hours?

Monday – Saturday: 10.00 – 22.00, Sunday: 10.00 – 18.00. We are closed on Bank holidays.

If your booking starts at 10.00, you will only be admitted into the building from 10.00 as that is when we open the building. Please take this into consideration when booking a space with us.

Early or late access can be arranged in advance – this will be charged at £50+VAT per hour.


What are your hire rates for rehearsals & auditions?

Each of our studio spaces are priced individually in accordance with their capacity and equipment. Please complete the enquiry form below and one of the team will get back to you with a quote.


Do you have a charity or discounted rates?

As Jacksons Lane is itself a charity – we are unable to offer discounts to other charities or non-profit organisations.


Can I pencil in a booking?

Yes! Once you have made your initial enquiry, you can ask us to pencil you in for your chosen date/time and that space will be reserved for you. If we get further interest from other clients for the space you are pencilled in for, we will contact you to ask you if you are ready to confirm your booking, or if you would like to let go of your space.


Do I need to pay a deposit?

No, you do not need to pay a deposit. You can pencil in a booking with us free of charge, then when you are ready to confirm, we will send you an invoice.


Do you have a minimum hire time?

For Studio 1, we have a minimum booking time of 3 hours. All other studios have a 30-minute minimum booking.


Can I hire a space exclusively?

You may hire a studio exclusively and can book storage for longer period bookings. Contact us for further details on availability.


Can I store my equipment overnight?

Storage space at Jacksons Lane is very limited and is not included in the cost of the hire. We can usually find storage for small items overnight free of charge. For larger equipment, you can book the Meeting Room for storage purposes. All hirers are expected to leave the space empty and tidy by the hire end time.


Is the space soundproof?

No, Jacksons Lane does have some sound bleed. When all doors are closed, we can reduce the volume of this sound bleed, but we ask that you don’t bring any especially loud drums or sound equipment. We also ask you to shut off all music by 23:00 for all late night events.


Does Jacksons Lane have tables and chairs we can use?

Absolutely – Each space has access to chairs and tables relevant to the size of the studio. If you are planning to use a large number of either please speak to the Events team who will be able to confirm availability.


Will anyone set-up /clear down the room for me?

No, you will need to do this yourself within your booking time. Our Duty Manager will show you where the tables and chairs are kept. If you are booking an event, event staffing is mandatory, and Event Assistants will set up and clear down the room for you.


Can Jacksons Lane help with the marketing of my event?

Unfortunately, no. The marketing of all outside events is the sole responsibility of the hirer. Marketing on Jacksons Lane’s website, brochures and flyers is only available to our supported Classes & Courses programme and Theatre Hire through our booking system.


Can you provide catering for my booking?

You are welcome to bring in your own food or contact us for our list of approved caterers. We do not provide catering.

We have a café that serves hot and cold drinks and snacks.


Can I bring alcohol to my event?

Corkage charges will be applied to any alcohol brought onto the premises. Please discuss this with your Event Manager in further detail and to find out more about our approved list of caterers.

You are more than welcome to pre-order alcohol from our bar.
