Wave Cafe pop-up
Wave Café is a creative space offering exciting arts experiences for everyone. It was set up to bring people with and without learning disabilities together and to help build a truly inclusive community.
While they look for a permanent venue, they’re popping up in and around the borough starting with a first pop-up at Jacksons Lane on February 6th.
On the night, which is themed around new beginnings, expect live entertainment from performers including North London singer Darcey, as well as creative activities such as thumb-print painting and weaving with London Loom.
Homemade Mediterranean food will be on offer and drinks can be purchased at the bar. Tickets include a free mocktail on entry.
Wave Café’s aim is to change attitudes and behaviours across Haringey so that people with a learning disability can go anywhere and feel secure, valued and accepted.
The project was initiated by Wave, a local community group created in 2009. Wave already runs a weekly playgroup for parents of babies with additional needs, a social group for young adults and inclusive church services.
Tickets: £3 purchased via Eventbrite
Date: Monday 6th February
