Jumble Theatre

A self-led, inter-generational community theatre company.

Welcome to the Jumblers. We meet from 7-9pm every Tuesday.

We work collaboratively to share knowledge, skills and a passion for theatre, performance and performing. Our main focus is devising and writing original material but we don't shy away from re-working established texts, we like a challenge. We stage productions regularly throughout the year, meaning there’s always variety in our sessions.

Jumble Theatre Company was born from A Borough United - a one-off community theatre project initiated by Jacksons Lane and supported by the Lottery Heritage Fund in 2013. Jumble Theatre’s management team is alumni of this project, as are its founding members. Our unique model creates an ultimate sense of teamwork and equality - meaning that our work is entirely representative of Jumble Theatre Company members.

Dates: All year round (expect August)

JUMBLE THEATRE ARE PERFORMING

An original show created by the company, Tick Box.

Friday 29 - Saturday 30 June, 19:30

Unit 5 Gallery, Yorkton Street, Hoxton, E2 8NH

Eileen is bored. Steve is trapped.

With nothing to show for the last few decades together but rigid roles of housewife and breadwinner, their complicated marriage sparks the beginning of our story.

With help from some perspective-altering recreational pursuits, new friends from across the gender spectrum including a Drag Queen or two, they embark on separate but intertwined journeys of self and societal discovery.

Join them as we explore the confusing and complex yet empowering and beautiful spectrum of gender here and now.
