After a sold-out premier and standing ovation, Transient and Trifling returns to the Jacksons Lane stage through a blend of circus, performance art, and real conversations about the kink experience.

Breaking away from the typical notion that kink performance must rely on fetish fashion and shock value, Transient and Trifling offers a raw, visceral and vulnerable portrayal of BDSM. A cabaret-theatre show that is as much a love letter as a call for change, this edition features award-winning performers, some brand spanking new acts, and reflects on the history and culture that shapes the community today.

Announcing the line up:

Madeleine Margot (she/her) is an award-winning international artist specialising in Chinese Pole, Pole Dance and Aerial Pole. She creates performances with a focus on activism: recent themes include the appropriation of provocative dance in the pole and circus industries and the misrepresentation of BDSM in pop culture. Madeleine is the producer of the kinky cabaret show Transient and Trifling, and has been featured in The Times and Brass Monkey Magazine. She has been a part of the BDSM community since 2019, often seen in rabbit ears eating carrots in cages.

Powdered Sugar (they/them) as London’s favourite gender-fluid dumpster fire, and award-winning international menace, Powdered Sugar is here to bring absolute Queer chaos. Equal parts polished and perturbed, Sugar is Leigh Bowery’s answer to classic showgirl, with an overpowering yet infectious stage presence that has had them causing havoc on stages all over the UK, and even as far flung as Seattle and Finland. Expect to leave with something to think about, something to repress, and if you’re lucky, your newest kink!

Purrsia Kitt (she/they) is an international award-nominated, burlesque artiste whose work lives at the intersections of black femme queerness, disability, neurodivergence, and kink. Purrsia embodies the richness and complexity of these intersecting identities through unapologetic, sensual art. Purrsia produces Fetlesque, a kink-positive cabaret that centres QTIBPOC artists who are also disabled and/or neurodivergent, and too often pushed to the margins. Purrsia’s relationship with kink and burlesque is more than performance; it’s a radical act of self-honour. With a dangerously divine stage presence and sultry feline energy, Purrsia Kitt is the undeniable Kinky Feline Goddess of Burlesque.

Aitch (he/him) is a queer kink artist who likes to capture and create stories about intensity, connection and sex through his paintings. His work can be found all over the UK – in living rooms, bedrooms, playrooms… and even on the walls of several bars! In this show, he will be putting down the paintbrush and instead using his background in dance to tell a story about connection and kink, live in partnership with Powdered Sugar.
