Circus

Circus in Action

Over the years, it has been our privilege to showcase some of the most exciting contemporary circus artists and groups to ever perform. But believe us when we say, the best is yet to come.

Until then, here are some of the shows which have graced our stage in the past.

KNOT - NIKKI & JD

KNOT is a very modern affair, told with delicate sensitivity through breath-taking acrobatics and heart-wrenching dance.

The two talented performers use hand-to-hand circus skills to tell the tale of an impossible choice: How can we be honest with ourselves without hurting those we love?

KNOT was co-produced by Jacksons Lane.

Breathtaking in every way.

SIMPLE CYPHER - KIERAN WARNER & CHRISTOPHER THOMAS

Simple Cypher was formed by Kieran Warner and Christopher Thomas. Both specialising in cyr wheel, the two also share a passion for hip hop.

Style, originality, and unity are key fundamentals of hip hop culture and have had a profound influence on their development as circus performers.

Jacksons Lane has supported Simple Cypher throughout their career.

HYENA - ALULA

HYENA is the culmination of two years’ research into pioneering new ways of working with one of circus’ fastest evolving disciplines. Boisterous, playful and wild, HYENA is a synchronised display of sisterhood, strength and power.

HYENA is the exciting debut of Alula Cyr, and was directed by Rosamond Martin.

HYENA was produced by Jacksons Lane, and ran on the South Bank for a month, before touring internationally.

THE BROWNIE CLUB - JESSICA ANDRADE

The Brownie Club is an autobiographical theatre show about race, identity and fitting in. Jessica, a British Indian girl growing up in Essex, starts her own Brownie Club with two friends.

In a treehouse, they share gossip and tales from school. Their strong bond is borne out of a shared sense of difference; the stereotypes thrown at them are because of their colour.

Through speech, song, dance and aerial work, they reveal their collective resilience.
