Transmission is Jacksons Lane’s annual circus residency programme.
Companies and artists take over our theatre for one week to develop new work, with ‘scratch’ performances each Friday afternoon at the end of their residency. Tickets are free and can be booked in advance. Performances last around 30 minutes, sometimes longer.
Friday 4 August at 5pm
We first saw Finnish foot juggler Rosa dazzle in NoFit State’s Lexicon, and thanks to the support of the Finnish Institute in the UK and Ireland we welcome Rosa and the acclaimed clown and director Jenni Kallo from Finland to Jacksons Lane for the first time.
Tilly Lee-Kronick & Jonny Leitch
Friday 11 August at 5pm
Having worked both in our studios and also as part of Extraordinary Bodies, we welcome back Tilly and Jonny to continue their development together with innovative, ground-breaking circus techniques in the air and on the ground (not to mention, if we’re lucky, Jonny’s amazing drumming skills).
Friday 18 August at 4pm
Rebecca works in aerial dance and live art. She came to us earlier this year to see how we could support her new work Traces which was selected for a Jerwood residency with National Centre for Circus Arts. This is a chance to catch its further progress, using the theatre literally as a canvas as she creates and draws above the powdered stage with her rope.
Jacksons Lane has worked with aerialist and performance artist Laura over the last five years, especially in developing the acclaimed production Contra. This is the final stage of development before she takes the production A Spectacle of Herself to the Edinburgh Fringe.
Laura’s sharing will not be open to the public. But you can watch the final show when it comes to Jacksons Lane on 1 November 2023.
