An exhibition of photographs by Mark Morreau celebrating 12 years of performance at Jacksons Lane. Part of 50 Years of Jacksons Lane, our Heritage Lottery funded project.

Shot in the Act is a new exhibition of photographs by local artist Mark Morreau, showcasing twelve years of vivid performance photography captured at Jacksons Lane. A lifelong local and long-time collaborator, Mark’s connection to Jacksons Lane runs deep—through film, performance, and photography.

Shot in the Act is a small selection of Mark’s photos taken at Jacksons Lane over the years – a celebration of the people, performances, and energy that make this place special.

It’s part of 50 Years of Jacksons Lane, our Heritage Lottery funded project marking five decades of creativity and community in our North London home.

A bit about Mark Morreau
Circus performer and photographer Mark Morreau grew up in Muswell Hill, just up the road from Jacksons Lane. Mark has a long association with Jacksons Lane, from marching down Archway Road in the ’70s protesting at Motorway Madness, through doing Stand-up comedy courses and compering Circus Cabarets in the 90s, being circus advisor to fringe theatre in the ’00s, creating work here in the twentyteens and most recently performing in the theatre with Natalie Reckert in 2024. Mark has photographed and filmed dozens and dozens of shows at Jacksons Lane and this exhibition, Shot in the Act, represents a small selection of work captured in the theatre here in the last twelve years.
