The London Clown Festival

★★★★
“The most irresistibly silly, fun and unexpected cabaret show. Hosted by Norway’s finest clowns Anna Marie Simonsen and Marie Kallevik Straume”

After sold-out shows at the 2024 Edinburgh Fringe, Naughty Cabaret is coming to London Clown Festival — a queer, feminist cabaret packed with energy, clowning, and comedy.

Every performance features a fresh, ever-changing line-up spanning clown, circus, music, burlesque, character comedy, and more.

Naughty Cabaret has wowed audiences in Australia, Edinburgh, London, and Norway, with past guest performers including Lara Ricote, Elf Lyons, Siblings, Frankie Thompson, Paulina Lenoir, Hannah Camilleri, Ella The Great, Lucy Hopkins, and Dairy King.

Hosted by “Queens of the ridiculous” (Wee Review), Anna Marie Simonsen and Marie Kallevik Straume—also seen in the “irresistibly silly” ★★★★ (The Guardian) clown comedy Troll.

The line up for this show includes:

Frankie Thompson
Frankie Thompson is an ‘acclaimed clown’ (ToDoList) and performance artist. Her work has had sell out runs across London and Edinburgh. ‘Hysterically Funny, Deeply Strange’ – Time Out ‘Like nothing you’ve ever seen before… We all need some Frankie Thompson in our lives’ – To Do List
Lorna Rose Treen
Lorna Rose Treen is an award-winning character comedian, writer, actor and improviser from Redditch, but based in London. After a sell-out Edinburgh Fringe debut of character comedy show ‘Skin Pigeon’ in 2023, she had two sell-out transfers to Soho Theatre. She stars in her self-written Radio 4 comedy series ‘Time of the Week’ on BBC Radio 4 in July, a surreal parody of women’s news and current affairs shows.
Ella The Great

Ella The Great is an international trailblazing clown and drag artist based in the UK. Ella “lights up the stage” (Scotsman) celebrating the craft of clown from the heart, inviting audiences into a world of wonder, where no two encounters are the same. Ella The Great’s first solo show “pomp and cirque-stance No 3.1” with the enchanting drag king Richard Melanin the Third (who has featured in The Guardian and New York Times Magazine) has previewed at Soho Theatre, Jacksons Lane and Brighton Fringe.

Riss Obolensky
Riss Obolensky is a clown and theatre-maker with a background in physical comedy, bouffon, clown and fooling. Their solo show ‘Healing King Herod’ reached critical acclaim at its Underbelly run in Edinburgh, following its sell out run at VAULT Festival 2023. It returned to Soho Theatre for another sellout run in March: ‘Unmissable’ ★★★★ (The Skinny) ‘Magnetic’ (TheReviewsHub) ★★★★★ ‘Brilliantly weird’ ★★★★★ (Fringe Biscuit).
