To all the art adventure seekers and art revolutionaries! BrainFools are back at Jacksons Lane. After our series of four mind-bending scratch nights, we’re ripping up the rule book of scratch and diving headfirst into a whirlpool of unfiltered creativity.

Fancy a peek behind the curtain? This Scratch Night is where cabaret and burlesque acts are born (and sometimes, gloriously misbehave). We’ve curated a sparkling selection of performers, from seasoned stars unveiling fresh material to bright young things ready to ignite the stage. Expect unpolished diamonds, a touch of the risqué, and a whole lot of sparkle. It’s cabaret as you’ve never seen it before – raw, unfiltered, and utterly irresistible.

Line-up includes:

Emily Perzan is this show’s compere.

Rebecca Rennison is a multi-award-winning international aerial circus artist and movement director. Graduating from the acclaimed Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts with a BA (Hons) in Dance, Rebecca fell head over heels with aerial circus and has made a career of seamlessly weaving together lyrical aerial work, dance and physical theatre.

Charles Philpot is a professional Pole Dancer and Circus Artist living in hot and beachy Manchester who is constantly travelling to teach and perform pole, hoop, trapeze and chair. This is a kinky performance exploring use of chains on the ground and in the air, and trying to translate elements of fetish culture into circus. Expect stripping, light bondage, splits for claps and techno.

Sadiq Ali blends elements of circus, dance, and physical theatre, Sadiq crafts unapologetically queer works that serve as both artistic expressions and catalysts for social change. His work often offers a perspective on issues close to his heart—stigma, HIV awareness, belonging in queer spaces, and the complexities of addiction. Sadiq firmly believes in the transformative power of storytelling and the inherent value of the artist’s voice in shaping a more inclusive society.

Fleur & Rikkai are an acrobatic dance & theatre duo.

Joshua Smith is a juggler who escaped London for the seaside, swapping one artsy metropolis for another. Now based in Brighton, he’s been exploring clowning, comedy, and cabaret – piecing together something for the Brainfool’s scratch stage… whatever that might be.

Amy & Edd are an aerial hoop duo.
