The Lawyers’ Group of Oasis of Peace UK- the charity working in support of the bilingual, binational peace community of Neve Shalom/Wahat al-Salam in Israel- invites you to register for our 14th Annual Philip Rueff Lecture.
Rob Rinder MBE is a practising criminal barrister, a broadcaster and Sunday Times best-selling author. Called to the bar in 2001, Rob went on to specialise in cases involving international fraud, money laundering and other forms of financial crime, while working in media to make law more accessible. He started his broadcast career with Judge Rinder for ITV before going on to host his own BBC 5Live series Raising the Bar. A regular host on ITV’s Good Morning Britain, Rob co-hosts BBC Two’s Amazing Hotels: Life Beyond the Lobby and has recently filmed a new travel show, The Grand Tour, in which Rob and his co-host Rylan retrace the footsteps of cultural greats around Italy. Later this year, Rob will be shedding light on the unsolved mystery of what happened to the princes in the tower during Richard III’s reign for a new Channel 4 documentary.
As a Sunday Times bestselling author, Rob’s debut book, Rinder’s Rules, was a guide to everyday legal issues, while his 2023 fictional debut, The Trial, became an instant number 1 bestseller.
Most relevant, as far as the Oasis of Peace is concerned, was Rob’s critically acclaimed BBC Two documentary earlier this year, The Holy Land: Untold Stories. Alongside journalist Sarah Agha, the powerful documentary movingly explored the experiences of their families and those of other Jewish and Palestinian families, profoundly changed by the founding of the state of Israel in 1948.
